What is this on my baby's face?

It looks more like a burn type mark to me but I'm not sure. DH held him when he returned from work last Thursday and baby came up in a rash on his face, it died down very quickly but left this one mark which isn't going away.

DH seems to think it was his stubble but I think it's more like a burn from something on his clothes maybe?!
What can I do?? Is there anything I can put on it?

Try the pharmacist, or health visitor for advice

I was going to try the chemist today but hoping someone on here could shed some light first 😕

My dc get rash from their dads stubble. It goes away quite quickly. I think this is a little patch of eczema. There is a 1% hydrocortisone cream you can get from the chemist but they won't sell it to you for a baby, you can buy it for yourself though. Your Dr can prescribe it for baby. Shouldn't be used on face regularly. My dd gets these little patches now and then, often when she's been unwell for some reason. Aveeno is brilliant to use daily if it turns out your little one is eczema prone.

I'd say it looks a little like eczema.. my DD gets it all the time quite nasty too... Tried everything under the sun.. the only thing that seems to work for us is child's farm moisturizer! After 2-3 days using it her eczema clears up! Hers usually flare's up when it is cold outside.

Jesse70 · 03/10/2019 08:10

Put a but sudocreme on it should clear it up
I see what u mean tho it does look a bit like a small blister burn type thing
But it could also just be scratched eczema
My daughter has it and has .5 hydrocortisone cream from the dr

ColdMarch · 03/10/2019 09:16

My DD got exactly the same thing, had a rash and it left a mark just like that. I put sudocream on it and it was gone in a week and hasn't come back.

CherryPlum · 03/10/2019 09:17

I think sudocrem.is quite drying, so could make it worse if it is eczema

BusterGonad · 03/10/2019 10:27

I'd steer clear of sudo creme. It's rubbish for eczema. Stick with the 1% hydrocortisone cream. Just use sparingly.

Where does your dh work? What could he have had on his clothes that caused it when he held him?

Ahundredpercentthatbitch · 03/10/2019 10:46

I don’t have any advice to add but I just wanted to congratulate your baby on having adorable squishy cheeks.

My daughter once had some mystery marks which were caused by an Olbas type liquid which I'd dabbed on her T-shirt. This other brand weht through and burned her skin Shock. Took ages to work out what it was. Could it be something like that?

Chopsicle · 03/10/2019 14:13

I bought some hydrocortisone cream as pp suggested . It's getting a little better, I'm now starting to wonder if it was a bite as it's taking so long to fade.

@Ahundredpercentthatbitch I know, they are so adorable! Thank you! 😍

Hydrocortisone is also good for bites, I use it on mozzie bites.
