It's just a mole that happens to be near your nail, surely?

It looks like a normal nail to me. If you're worried, ask a doctor.

Ask your doctor for a referral, or a biopsy. It is the only way you will know if you are concerned.

I could pretend I know, but I really don't.

Anyway, it doesn't look worrying to me. I have bigger moles and dark spots all over me! But I know the signs and DH has a look at places I cannot see for changes etc.

Get it checked if you are worried.

It's probably a mole. You can get darker pigmented areas anywhere - I have one in one of my eyes, & another on the sole of my foot. However, get it checked if it's new, itchy or changes at all.
