Meatballs without breadcrumbs

Help please! What's your best homemade (quite basic ) meatball recipe? All the ones I can find say fresh breadcrumbs. We don't have any. Only those crappy ones that are shop bought. Would porridge oats work?

My boy doesn’t like “bits”do I just smoosh meat and spices. Pork and tarragon is yummy.

Swedes don’t use fresh breadcrumbs either, we used to only be able to get dry ones in a paper box. You add them to the bowl and let them soak in the milk a bit, then add the rest.
