Sometimes - it depends on whether we get can get time off work or not.

Rupertpenrysmistress · 30/09/2019 15:02

Yes we normally do, didn't last year but are away this year. Only a local holiday but its own only one in the last 18 months. Can't wait for a break from the norm.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 30/09/2019 15:12

Thanks both. Looking for some ideas what type of places do you go to?

Always! It’s my favourite holiday of the year. None of the pressure of summer. We go to Barmouth or some place close by. It’s fairly quiet and although the weather can be unpredictable, we’ve had some lovely weeks away.

eurochick · 30/09/2019 15:36

We have the last couple of years and will this year. Long haul to chase the sun.

Rupertpenrysmistress · 30/09/2019 15:42

New forest caravan holiday. It's a really small site but has all the usual stuff pool, entertainment etc. It's a lovely cosy holiday.

coconuttelegraph · 30/09/2019 15:48

I've not heard of anyone going away for Halloween if people don't want anyone calling at their door they put up a sign and everyone leaves them alone.

Half terms holidays are no different to the other school holidays here, people go to the same places they would go to at any time of year although maybe not very long haul just because of the shorter time available

Hoppinggreen · 30/09/2019 15:50

We have done but this year with Brexit looming I don’t think we will
DS has asked for a Halloween party as well

resipsa · 30/09/2019 15:56

Cyprus is glorious in late Oct. We're going to Wales 😬.

Bloomburger · 30/09/2019 16:15

Yes. Southern Italy. It's not going to be boiling but will be a break and warmer than here in the UK.

bellsbuss · 30/09/2019 16:17

Tenerife normally but not this year as the prices were ridiculous.

confusedofengland · 30/09/2019 16:18

We have been to France at this time of year a few times & are doing so again this year. We're going with Eurocamp to our favourite site (£400 including ferry for the week in a 3-bed, 2-bathroom mobile home with decking). It's fairly near Paris so we're going to Park Asterix for the day on Halloween.

Thanks for the ideas. I was thinking more uk than abroad.
