Second vote here for Orientals. Ours has very sadly passed away but I have never come across such a sweet, loving cat.
I will be getting another one or two. Soon.

My Bengal died last year at the age of 17. She was very affectionate and great with other cats but was so vocal I would not get another one. She was constantly meowing during the night. She went outsife a lot which made it bearable but when she was inside the noise was difficult to deal with. As awful as it sounds I do not miss her. I have a Birman and it is like night and day - I wouldn't want to be without him.

I have one and would have one again. But, we have no kids and dote on him.

They are not for the faint hearted.

There is a Bengal welfare site with adults for rehoming.

We have a 6 year old male Bengal and he is a feline terrorist. Loud, aggressive, bossy, fussy, attention seeking, but also highly intelligent, affectionate and utterly hilarious. Bengals are like cat/dog hybrids and need a lot of attention. They are not for novice cat owners, or anyone who basically isn't willing to submit to them. They are the boss of the house and if they don't get their way they will make your life hell.

If you are able to let them outdoors so they can run around and explore do, otherwise expect to put in a lot of time keeping them entertained. Bored bengals are destructive.

We had a female Bengal x british tabby and she was my absolute favourite cat we ever had...yes she brought things in occasionally but she loved a lap, was really chatty and like a pp said she would come for walks with us when we took out very young ( at the time DD) for a walk after tea. I miss her so much!

I have a six year old Bengal. In my opinion the should be strictly house cats for the reasons that others have mentioned. He is super affectionate and loves cuddles. He can be very boisterous but is very gentle with children.

I looked into getting a Bengal because they are beautiful... but this sort of thing put me off, plus I didn't want to add to demand when there are so many cats to rescue and then the cost of a breed

I ended up with a brown tabby - she is utterly beautiful and I've been asked by several cat-lovers if she is a Bengal because of her markings - she isn't, she's just a bog standard moggie, with a fairly straightforward temperament, although sometimes (mental half-hour) you'd be forgiven for thinking she was a Bengal or rabid Grin

Two bengal boys (brothers) from about 12 weeks old. Yes they are noisy when they want something - usually food or calling for the other one, but otherwise a delight. Love having tummy tickled, don't object to being picked up, both outdoor cats and (mostly) come when called. They wash each and sleep curled up together - what's not to love !
