Crawling baby & dog hair!!

Oh my god I'm going out my mind with annoyance!
Baby has just started crawling but we have a black lab and the hair is immense!

We've got wooden floors so they are easier to clean but today I've hovered twice and mopped once but put baby in clean pyjamas and within 10 minutes his knees & feet are black and he's covered in dog hair.

So fed up! How do other dog & baby mums manage?!

Furminator removes all loose hair from dog.

A damp washing up sponge used on the green rough side removed hair from soft furnishings.

Thorough vacuuming using a vacuum made to deal with pet hairs or a pet hair attachment used in existing vacuum cleaner.

Thorough grooming of your dog is essential

When we had a chocolate lab we also used a rubber type glove that helped gather up loose hair from her.

It makes no difference, she still sheds so much hair the whole time no matter how much I brush her and I use a ferninator :(

Check her diet as some dog food is lacking and can cause hair to shed.

Overfeeding can also cause excessive moulting.

Central heating isn’t good for them either.

Get one of those robot vacuums and leave it to just clean Grin

suziedoozy · 27/09/2019 21:03

I’ve bought a robot vacuum cleaner after I had to lint roller my baby! I think it’s the only way to make sure baby isn’t coated in my two dogs hair!!

Black babygrows and hoover the dog.
And don't get a yellow lab at the same time as a black one, otherwise no clothing colour will hide the hair.....Blush

MissWitch23 · 27/09/2019 21:57

I have the same issue! A lot of my 11 month olds clothes get stains on the knees and even washing won't get them out :( we have a jack Russell and I hoover twice a day!

Boats have something called a sacrificial anode which is a lump of zinc which corrodes instead the propeller.

What you need is some form of sacrificial clothing. Like a jump suit covered in velcro that your child can wear to pick up the hair before it's removed and their normal clothes are underneath.

Robot hoover. It hovers house several times a day in dog shed sessions so floors stay clear.

I just have a hairy baby. Trying to get rid of animal hair in our house is a fool's game!

We have one of those foam mats on our carpeted living room floor though which a) the dog doesn't really go on and b) is a lot easier to keep clean

I just stopped caring tbh. It's only a bit of hair.
