Has anyone lost a lot of weight using My Fitness Pal?

Just that, really. I have three stone to lose and don't get on with things like WW and Slimming World (my portion control is terrible so telling me I can eat all the pasta I want isn't going to end well).

I've been using MFP for a few days and it seems to be working ok, I'm not too hungry or anything, and I have lost a couple of pounds. But I'm on 1200 calories and am slightly concerned that I won't have anywhere to go if I plateau.

Has anyone lost more than a few pounds with this app, and did your calorie goal change as your weight went down?

Have a look at Team RH on Facebook & what they advocate - total change in mindset & for life not a fad diet

amusedbush I have found that the values are wrong for some of the stuff I barcode-scan, but as I have the packet in front of me at the time, it's not such a problem. However, I can see how it could be an issue if I was eating out, for example, or I'd thrown the packaging away before thinking to check the nutrition. I find some of the measurements a bit unwieldy as well, not to mention some of them are in American...

But then, it is a free app, and I suppose you can't expect it to be perfect. I was mainly drawn to it because I'm broke and can't afford to join a "diet club", and I wanted something that tracked my carb and protein intake as well as calories. I will bear Nutracheck in mind, though, if I start finding MFP too unreliable to be sure of.

4forkssake I tried searching for that on FB but just came up with a lot of private groups for people who seem to be following the plan, rather than the original page itself. Any hints as to what to look for, or what it consists of?

Have a look at this. I didn't realise there was also a web page to look at. There's also a few Team RH pages on FB & I think there's one for people who aren't signed up but I'm not sure which one cos I am a member so I don't know what I can see as opposed to what non members can see.

Lost my first stone as of this morning Smile

To be fair I don't track my food though just weight everyday. So I really don't actually use it properly..!!!

4forkssake thanks. I don't really want to pay to subscribe to a diet plan where I can't see vaguely what it consists of, though. For all that it claims to be revolutionary and brand new, I don't see how radically different it can be from any other diet, i.e. reduce your overall energy intake and exercise more.
