In a restaurant

Just a bit of Friday fun.
Imagine you're in a nice restaurant.
You can only order ONE dish.
What would your order be?

Mine would be seabass with scallops and salad.

Does it have to be a main?

If not, I'm having sticky toffee pudding with custard and vanilla ice cream (all vegan please, so send some wanky hipster points my way also!)

If it's got to be a main, I'm going with sticky chilli tofu and Chinese style veg and noodles. God I'm hungry!

Aloo paratha, lime pickle and chai. Somewhere in Rajasthan would do.

I'm going straight for dessert. A massive ice cream sundae with all the trimmings - chocolate sauce, nuts, sprinkles, a wafer, cream, some little marshmallows....mmmm!

Gratin dauphinoise. With or without roast leg of lamb.

If it was an Italian restaurant in the Italian Dolomites, then mushroom rissotto.,

Failing all that, a lovely, warm and fluffy pilau rice with chicken curry

Buttermilk fried chicken thigh in a toasted bun with avocado and jalapenos served with skin on fries and a side of mozzarella sticks 🤤

I'd have your sea bass and scallops too, love sea bass

I am really weird. But... my.oartnets home made fajitas would be lush washed down with lashings of white wine

Oooh I'd have a massive lovely burrata with prosciutto, tomatoes, warm figs and salad. And some dauphinoise on the side. Heaven!

It would have to be....rare steak, blue cheese sauce, chunky chips...or Hoi Sin Duck and fried rice...no wait! Spaghetti Carbonara! Oh this is too hard!!! I'm hungry!

PleasemayIhave ... (because Iwantdoesn'tget) pan fried calf's liver - just pink, "with onions on its breath" - on a school dinner tray with dividers so the raspberries with chocolate mousse (yes - that way round) don't get muddled into the liver

Steak frites with a rich port gravy and a watercress salad. And the steak needs to be medium and sliced across the grain. The watercress just has a light dressing of olive oil lemon juice and salt.

And I want a cocktail to go with it. A Bees Knees with thyme

Cheeseburger with bacon, mushroom and hickory BBQ sauce with chunky chips and onion rings.

Is it cheating if I order a 3 course set menu

I went to Brugge once and I had the following:

Beef carpaccio with salad
Duck with orange sauce, roast potatoes and veg
White and milk chocolate mousses

I dream about this meal all of the time.

However if I can only order one meal, I will order a huge tofu pad Thai!

Well if it's anything goes then I'll have Holland's steak & kidney pudding, chips & gravy with a battered potato scallops please. Lots of vinegar.

Slow roasted crispy belly pork on a bed of apple mash with chorizo and black pudding and braised red cabbage... mmmm
