Hi. Back story is had a horrendous time at old employer, after many years being happy, was involved in whistleblowing (company at fault) and then left after really need treatment. I developed extreme depression too. After a lot of treatment, I took a new position at a new company which was meant to be a side step but really feels like a demotion (it is for lot more money however). I know this sounds a first world problem but can anyone help me out of feeling in a slump. Ive always been quite ambitious but struggling with seeing a long term plan for me, and feel rubbish as feel have been demoted. My boss is fairly new so can't imagine promotion would be on the cards for a long time either. I can feel myself slipping into old depressive ways - lethargic, sad, and really run down. Can anyone help give me a head wobble, help me see I have a good future ahead? thanks

fully appreciate there are others with so many worse problems, so hope I don't come across as selfish

why is it a demotion if it's for a lot more money?

in terms of responsibilities/level in company etc. Im more motivated by role than money I suppose. I don't know why I care so much about this, I started the job thinking fresh start, depression behind me, think of all the good things I have in life...but depression has crept in again
