What chapter books is your reluctant reader 7 year old ds reading?

DS loves being read to. We've worked our way through piles of Roald Dahls and David Walliam and Captain Underpants. However getting him to read to himself is another matter.

I've had a small victory with 13 Storey Tree House which he read 7 chapters of in bed last night. I've got some more of that series .

He likes factual books - Guiness Book of records is his favourite.

What else please?

Horrid Henry. Secret Seven & Famous Five.

If he likes factual books, that is great! Not everybody likes to read fiction. Reading factual books is a good start & to be encouraged.

Have you also thought about magazines and comics eg national geographic kids? Go to the library and get some non fiction books with great illustrations and diagrams.

Fiction wise: Flat Stanley, Horrid Henry, the Animal Ark series.
