If you get summoned to Crown court & you're the accused, do you get automatic legal representation or do you have to fund a lawyer yourself?

No you have to fund your own.

You won't go directly to the crown court though, you'll go through the magistrates court first

Ah, ok, my knowledge is out of date. Legal aid is mostly automatic in the crown court but you may have to contribute

You need to see a legal lawyer.

Unusual to be summoned directly to crown court. You sure you don't mean magistrates?
