Facebook: who can see my profile?

I've recently joined a Facebook group with thousands of members. If I post on their chat threads, can any of those members look at my profile?

I've got it set so that only friends can see it, but not sure how it all works really.

They can look at your profile but if it is set to Friends Only and you are not friends with them, then they won't be able to see everything.

However, do check if there is anything public still on your page. For example, old profile pictures and cover photos stay public and come up unless you specifically go back and change them to friends only. Also your friends list defaults to public unless you change it. And if you used to have a public profile but changed it to friends only then everything before you changed it will still be public, it doesn't reset everything to friends only.

Have a good look in the settings its all there. There is also a function in there ('view as' I think it's called) which allows you to see your profile as someone who is not friends with you.

Brilliant, I'll check, thanks!
