My Hearing test results - hearing aid advice

I took a hearing test yesterday at a high street opticians . The results were quite poor - not entirely sure how to interpret the graph , but there was a big dip in the middle and it was way below the normal hearing line
They’ve advised me to make a gp appointment . But I guess I’ll be looking at some kind of hearing aid in the near future . Does anyone have any advice .Are in ear ones comfortable ? Do all hearing aids distort the noise ? I see that some are Bluetooth compatible, which look great but are £££ . Anyone tried those?
Just feeling a bit bewildered by choice and sad that I need them

@jackparlabane - how do you get a CEA card? Can't see anything on there for being eligible because of hearing.

@EternallyGrapefruit Thank You so much! That's brilliant!!
I'm 42 and wear HA, they've improved my life no end (although habit means I still watch tv with subtitles 😳)
When they were fitted (NHS 2 years ago) the Audiologist was lovely, I was scared they were going to be big bulky things (and I'm not generally vain 😳😳) but she said - "if people need glasses, they wear glasses... if people need help hearing they wear HAs, people think there is a stigma attached to them, when there shouldn't be"
Thanks lovely ladies 😊😊

DH has been wearing a hearing aid for a couple of years now (from late 30s). There's a local high street hearing aid place in our town centre, and he tried a few out over the course of a week or two. Unfortunately none of them really improved noisy environments much more than his NHS hearing aid, which was super disappointing, but it was good to be able to give them a proper test before committing to spending thousands.

DH's are ones that go over his ear and he doesn't have much hair either, but it is better for him to wear it than not, so he just got on with it. TBH people don't seem to notice it.

OldSpeclkledHen Happy to help! I also decorate the outside flat bit with washi tape - easy to change when you fancy a new look!
