Washing machine detergent drawer question. What happens if you accidentally pour the detergent in the part that says do not use?

Please can somebody advise ?
I have accidentally poured detergent in the middle part of the detergent drawer where it says in the instruction book not to use.

I have changed my regular detergent where I pour it in the cap and put the cap in the drum, to one where it needs to go in the drawer.

Only afterwards after turning it on, and the detergent going through, did it occur to me that I should have read the instructions first .......

Will this damage my washing machine?

Did the detergent get taken into the machine during the wash cycle? I've never seen a drawer with a section you shouldn't use. Can you link to it or post a picture?

Here is the drawer in question. The middle one is the one that shouldn’t be used according to the book.
Yes, the detergent got taken into the machine.

Does the drawer pull out so you can rinse it. Try pressing the indent on the blue part to release. Unlikely to be an issue.

No, the drawer doesn’t pull out, it’s on a hinge.

It’s strange really, as it seems that both the main drawer and the one you can’t use goes in the same direction if that makes any sense?
Water goes through both at the beginning to send detergent through...
The cycle has now finished and everything seems ok.
I’ve started another wash, the detergent going into the correct drawer this time though 😄.

*the main compartment, that should read.

It won't cause the washing machine to break down OP.

The "bit you can't use" is supposed to be kept clear for water to go through for the rinse cycle.

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 21/09/2019 12:31

I used to have that washing machine OP the drawer was a pain in the arse to clean nothing will happen due to putting the detergent in the other compartment like PP says it's for the rinse cycle... so maybe shove the clothes on an extra rinse just to be sure they're clear of detergent.

ScreamingValenta · 21/09/2019 12:32

I've done that before, and nothing happened.

I have that machine and you can lift the drawer out to clean - it sort of clips off the front flap and you lift it out. No idea what happens if you put the detergent in the middle but though.

cannotwaitanylonger · 21/09/2019 12:44

Its just for the conditioner so wont rinse any soap out of the clothes. Just put a wash on, open the drawer and when the water comes through just pour some water into the blue drawer till the soap has gone through. It will not damage the machine

Well obviously your house will explode!!

Your drawer does pull out. I have the very same one. You need to depress the indent of the back of the blue section and slide the whole thing towards you.

Threedaysaweek2019 · 21/09/2019 12:52

I’ll put it all back through on a rinse cycle, good idea, thanks, and yes, I see now it must be for the rinse cycle.
I’ll have a go at lifting the drawer out to clean it.
Thanks all for the reassurances.

All seems ok now.

The same thing that happens if you step on the lines between paving stones: a bear will come and eat you!
