in a breadmaker? I made a white one and its really nice.
would like to make one that is half wholemeal and half white. will that work ?(so I just use half the white flour and replace other half with wholemeal)

I don't use a breadmaker as I bake my bread in the oven but I don't see why not. I often make a loaf with a mix of wholemeal and white flour - it does tend to be a more dense loaf though. Maybe try 1/3 wholemeal first rather than 1/2.

Yes. I make half and half loaves in my Panasonic, they come out really well.

I use the dough setting on my bread maker to do exactly as you're proposing; half white flour, half wholemeal. I bake it in the oven though as it's a much nicer bake.

If you want a loaf that's not too heavy and that slices well sainsburys do a brown bread flour.

Yes. I find half and half loaves always work better for me in the breadmaker. My all-white ones always seem too soft and all-wholemeal ones are too heavy.

Samcro · 20/09/2019 17:16

thanks I will give it a try using 1/3 first. PickAChew(love the name) I prefer making it.

I think you may need to add slightly more water.

I don't get you, Samcro. I'm talking about flour that I use to make bread with.

Yep I always use whole meal and white - it makes my favourite kind of bread. Recipe requires 1lb 2oz so I use 12oz of whole meal and 6oz and it makes a lovely loaf Smile
