I love washing my back yard with Jeyes fluid every other weekend . My DP absolutely hates it but I actually really look forward to it Blush

I also quite enjoy hoovering. I wouldn't say I love it or look forward to it but it's quite soothing.

Most of all though, I completely love love love wrapping Christmas presents. People have joked that they'd pay me to do their wrapping for them. I would fucking love to.

chopping, peeling general prepping of veg/salad etc
and also Christmas wrapping

Foodtheif · 19/09/2019 12:53

I love doing washing! Love taking it out of the machine when it’s all lovely smelling and clean! Love hanging it out in the summer. Don’t enjoy putting it away though 😂

Isit2019already · 19/09/2019 12:54

Oooh, I enjoy washing as well. I have a "top 5" detergents Blush

Laundry - all of it. putting in the washing machine, hanging up to dry, folding & ironing and putting it all away. I find the noise from the machine quite comforting and it smells amazing when its been out in the wind and sun. I don't go overboard with heavy scents in the detergents though. It helps having a wardrobe of clothes that I love wearing.

michaelbaubles · 19/09/2019 13:46

I love ironing! What's not to like? You get instant results, it smells nice, you don't have to get your hands wet or dirty and you can watch TV while you're doing it.

ZaZathecat · 19/09/2019 13:48

I'm also partial to a bit of ironing.

Elllicam · 19/09/2019 13:54

I love food shopping.

Theaspidistraiswilting · 19/09/2019 13:55

I need to know - what are the Top 5 Detergents?! I don’t mind the ironing, audiobook time!

Isit2019already · 19/09/2019 14:05

Okay, my top 5 detergents are:

  • Surf Biological Powder Lilly and Ylang Ylang
  • Daz Biological Powder
  • Ariel Washing Gel (green one) - just for the lovely smell, I don't find it particularly good at washing so I don't use on its own
  • Persil Biological Powder
  • Lenor Original Fabric Softener - realise this isn't detergent but I love the smell

All washing powders are cut so it's 50% washing powder and 50% soda crystals.

God, I really do love washing Grin

Homework and holiday projects and all things schooly Blush

BentlyandPalmers · 19/09/2019 14:11

^ with the younger ones I mean. I love listening to them read and testing their spellings.

I volunteer to supervise other people’s children too.

I’m not a teacher!

Shockers · 19/09/2019 14:11

Pegging out washing, and bringing it in again.

Cooking- I love fresh ingredients. Sometimes I like to take photos of the veg just because it looks so colourful Grin.

ThatCurlyGirl · 19/09/2019 14:18

Christmas wrapping

Organising things for maximum storage

Calling big business suppliers to negotiate a discount for the best offers - phone / gas etc

And squeezing other people's spots

madcatladyforever · 19/09/2019 14:19

I like ironing in front of the TV
It's so relaxing.

bigbluebus · 19/09/2019 14:21

I love mowing the lawns - would rather do that than Hoover the house.

pooopypants · 19/09/2019 14:21

Ironing. I offered to iron for a poorly friend and she ruined my fun by not letting my take her ironing pile!

A good box set on TV and you're well away

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 19/09/2019 14:23

I don't mind a bit of bill-paying, financial planning, doing tax return etc. Hate all cleaning-related chores though.

ItProtectsMyHead · 19/09/2019 14:24

Hoovering and steam mopping the floors. Also dusting and polishing the wooden furniture. I find they're small things that make a huge difference to how clean the room looks and feels, unlike putting away laundry which often takes me ages and isn't nearly as visually rewarding

moonpiggle · 19/09/2019 14:25

Having a clear out and sorting out all the crap we have gathered over the years!

Pavlova31 · 19/09/2019 14:27

Ironing.washing up and paying bill s

MarshaBradyo · 19/09/2019 14:30

I do like a good wash and hang on the line on a sunny day

And if I’m all alone with radio on cooking something nice

Littlechocola · 19/09/2019 14:30

Cleaning the bathroom and mopping. Both ideal for helping with stress.

AuntieMarys · 19/09/2019 14:32

Ironing. I find it very therapeutic. I only do my own....My dhs shirts get sent to an ironing lady and he does his own jeans/tops

buddinggrower · 19/09/2019 14:36

I love weeding!

I do, and its only just struck me that others might see this as a chore.

Its therapeutic and so satisfying, deweeding a lawn or borders. Like it when its obviously weedy and I go round creating piles of extracted weeds, that then wilt in piles Grin. I love it!

I like shining glass. The windows, the bathroom mirrors and shower screen - actually all the shiney steel fittings too, like kitchen and bathroom taps and its so easy.

Hate all the other stuff. Get some satisfaction from bringing washing up thats dried all the creases out and is so clean and fresh and folds like new clothing.

I'm bonkers!

dontcallmelen · 19/09/2019 14:37

Hanging washing out, I’m another one who finds ironing therapeutic.
Love a good clear out & organising cupboards. Quite like dusting & polishing, like baking but not so much cooking & detest peeling spuds.
