I've been burying my head in the sand and not paying my credit card bill off, for months since my ex husband left me, it's at 3k- mostly used for deposit for new flat/baby stuff.. I work but I want just over 1k a month.. 500 rent, then bills, not much left over.. the minimum payment is 98 a month which I am going to pay this month but they just keep adding Interest!
Have no one to ask for advice so I'm asking you lovely people what can I do?! I can't get a balance transfer card I have tried that.. 100 a month is going to take like 3 years to pay 3k off? Any way to earn some money around job? Got a 2 year old so any internet jobs? Thank you for reading! I'm really stressed!

Are you sure you’re not entitled to any tax credits/UC? It would seem you would be on that income/outgoings.

Agree have you checked out that you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to.

Also beware that if you are earning under, or just over the first tax bracket that any extra earning possibilities may mean that you lose more than you expect to in tax (or that you lose any extra benefits you may now be entitled to)

OP you definitely need to check out the benefits you are entitled to. Under 16,000 you are entitled to universal credit, use the turn2us calculator to find out what you’d get. Even a small amount would cover some of the credit card bill.

Also, I understand you not wanting money off your ex but it’s about your DC, he owes them the maintenance money, even if it’s something small it’ll help. Or claim it and put it in a savings account for when DC is older.

How's it going @Frokoko? I hope things are improving for you.

When did you last apply for a 0% card?

Child tax credit will pay up to 80% of your childcare bill as well.

Definitely check to see if you can claim anything under UC. And claim CMS!!
