Are we well enough to go to playgroup?

8 month old has been sniffly since last Thursday, he has a cough but only really at night. We normally go to playgroup Tuesdays but don't want to infect anyone else, do you think we would be safe to go today?

I’d go.

God yes. Baby groups are a human soup of bugs anyway. Get out the house. Does you both good.

Yes a sniffle is fine!

Yes! Only if a temperature, D or V would I keep off

Only you know really. But If he's not lethargic or sick. I'd go. Playgroups are full of snot. My DC always had coughs and colds - caught at nursery/ playgroups.

DecomposingComposers · 17/09/2019 08:16

I wouldn't because as someone above says, playgroups are a human soup of bugs.

Your child might not be contagious but he might be a bit low after the cold and more likely to pick up another bug. I hated it when my son got 1 thing right after another but then he had febrile convulsions too so it just added another layer to any illness.

I’d just go. If I kept DD inside everytime she had a cold we’d never go out. I actually think her catching a lot of colds before turning one has massively helped her immune system as now she’s at nursery 3 days a week she hasn’t had a proper cold for a while.

The only time I stayed away was when she had conjunctivitis as it got quite bad and I didn’t want the other little ones to catch it.

Fab thank you everyone! He loves it so I'd hate to keep him away

He won't be the only sniffly one there
