Does Implant = no sex drive?

So not sure if this is 100% the reason but I've heard it has affected a few people but has anyone that has had or has the inplanon implant found that their sex drive drops completely through the floor? (I'm talking weeks) my partner sometimes understands but not always.

Is anyone going through or has been through the same and is there any advice you can give me? I'm really struggling.

If it uses same hormones as combined pill, it did for me. Only solution was to stop pull for me. It took years to come back and still not sure it’s as good as it was tbh

Yes it did for me. I had the implant for about 8 months in the end, before I got it removed (GP refused to remove it originally as they kept saying to"give it a bit longer"... They finally let me have it removed when I said either they took it out or I'd do it myself in the waiting room and they could patch me up after. Funnily enough they decided I was "allowed" to have it removed at that point.)

It totally killed any interest in sex for several years. I'd say it has finally got back to around where it used to be last year... and I'd had it removed in 2009.
Some people find it the best thing ever, some have a terrible time with it. I was one of the latter ones. I had continuous bleeding from when it went in to when it was removed.
Admittedly for it's primary purpose it was super-effective...for several years of any man so much as looked at me I would have probably done him a serious injury!

On my fourth one now and never noticed a decreased sex drive. First had it put in when I was at uni and I definitely had (what I would refer to as) a lot of sex back then.

I had two for a total of nearly six years. No decreased sex drive. I think if you're affected by hormonal birth control like the pill, this would affect you too.

Oh and I do agree with PP that they’re reluctant to take it out, they always tell me that when I have a new on put in. They say the hormones can “settle”.

Are the hormones agreeing with you otherwise? I’ve always got on really well with him (not just the sex drive but everything else). So that could be a clue whether it is this?
