Will my cats accept new cats?

I have two cats who are about 10 years old. An elderly friend needs to re-home her two female 3 year old cats due to her failing health. I would love to have them but I don't want my two to feel pushed out. Would they be okay?

Four cats is a lot to have (I have 3!).

Google advice about introducing new cats, advice is to do this slowly and use scenting etc. Do you have a big enough house and enough time at home to segregate them for a while? There may be a few hisses and turf wars but they should settle down over a couple of months. Just consider your time to give love and attention to them all as well house size so they can all find ‘their’ place.
