When you had a baby what was the one item you most appreciated?

No budget, but the couple i'm buying for have all the large items. So i'm looking for items that may have slipped through the net.

So if you could recommend I buy one item, what would it be?

A massive lasagne.

The thing I would have found most useful is homemade meals that can be easily reheated and ideally eaten with one hand. Similarly, offers to help with washing/ironing/housework, although I probably would have turned the offers down out of politeness looking back it would have been really useful. I definitely 1000% would have accepted meals though. I went from being a keen, confident and enthusiastic cook to someone who lived off stuff that just had to be heated in the oven as my husband doesn't cook (he stepped up and did his best though).

If you're talking about material items then it would be the baby swing and nappies/cotton wool/wipes
