Can you really make significant money from matched betting? how?

I've seen a lot of people talking about matched betting as a way to make easy money so I've signed up to profit accumulator. Just waiting for my first free bet to settle, I think I stand to make about £20 profit. Scrolling down the other free bet offers, the profits available are pretty negligible - nothing over £100 and mostly £20 or less. People on here talk about making thousands on matched betting but I don't see how, unless you plough all your winnings back into bets, in which case you only make money when you decide to stop, presumably? As that's when you take all your winnings out? Is that right? I thought it was an ongoing way of making money that you could actually spend rather than just using as the stake for your next matched bet.

I can feel myself getting pulled in again at the moment, spending a lot of time pondering offers & low risk casino, so I plan to break £1k profit (by next month I think) and then withdraw everything until after Christmas & see how I feel.

My DH does gamble though, and it's quite reassuring to see that my slowly-slowly approach has about the same (he says!) outcome as his occasional punts on bet boosts.

Where could I find out more about the low risk Casino deals please?

I'm definitely on slowly slowly. Spent 2 days reading up and checking and double checking. But I'm £28 up and I've 30 in free bets waiting to be used tomorrow on the football.

I still don’t really have my head around 2up after all the time I’ve been MBing but I know lots of people do well from it. Someone else will be along I’m sure.

Have you got access to the forum, crusty? I found it a bit confusing to navigate at first but there are lots of threads on 2up - that’s where I remember seeing lots of people intently discussing it - however I can’t recall whether forum access is only a thing for full members and maybe not for trial members (not sure which you are in any case).

2UP is a deal offered by Bet365 and PaddyPower. Basically, if you bet on a team to win and that team goes 2 goals ahead at any point in the game, the bookie will pay out. If your team then go on to lose or draw the match, you will win at the exchange as well so double winnings!

That is the easy explanation, it can get more complicated as you can cash out at the exchange once the bookies have paid out depending on the score, the odds etc. and make a profit. There are guides that explain it.

I wouldn't try 2UP until you are a bit more experienced.

It’s hard to make a lot long term as you get gubbed/stop getting free bets from a lot of companies and they aren’t as generous as they used to be but there’s still money to be made
