Living Leader management training - has anyone had experience of this training?

I have recently finished day two of a three day management training course (day three is in three weeks time), so haven't actually finished it. Its 'Living Leaders'.

People at work are raving about it.

I'm totally at a loss, I thought it was a load of rubbish.

Is it just me? Anyone else done this, am I missing something? I would be really interested to hear about other people's experiences.

I'll take the lack of response as a good sign. Maybe it's not that popular outside my organisation, which is actually very encouraging. It's just us spending £££££ on a load of hogwash then.

The name alone is cringeworthy. Something a bit cultish about it. I'll google it.

Thirder · 13/09/2019 21:44

Yep I did it. I liked it!
My husband thought I acted like a dickhead for a few weeks after it.

WarmSunBlueSkies · 13/09/2019 21:47

Yes! Thank you. That's exactly it - it was cultish. I was with people I didn't know, bar one, sort of know as we share a kitchen. I caught his eye on day one and I'm sure he looked how I was feeling but it's so intense, no time to talk to him. He was off sick next day and not seen him for the rest of the week!

Thirder what did you like about it?

There were some interesting things in there, I'll say that but I just found it was all wrapped up in load of it nauseating tosh.

In what way were you being a dickhead afterwards? Did you talk all about your childhood?

The cringe is worse on the third day!
But go with it, it's worth it! It's probably more beneficial to do it with people you work with.
I made a new life plan for me personally and professionally. Had a few decisions to make and it really helped to visualise it all for me.

Watching with interest...

Thirder · 13/09/2019 21:53

No, I tried to influence my husband and bandied around some clichés about our life direction and taking ownership of our decisions. He told me I was speaking like a robot. Wait for the flick cards to keep you in check. Forgotten it all now!

WarmSunBlueSkies · 13/09/2019 21:54

PinkLacy are you booked in...?

I have the flick cards. Jesus wept.

Hi, I know this is an old post, but just done the training and feel the same way! Yet all my colleagues (and much of the internet) raves about it. Found sharing the personal stuff quite manipulative, the management studies decades old (50s, 60s, 70s) some of the stories rather sexist and overall nothing that useful. Although I loved our little group and we had a fairly good trainer. Odd experience. How to feedback?!?
