Want a baby but also want the promotion!

Hi all I am new to this, I only have one baby boy... Soon to be 30 and my baby maker is ticking! I feel like I am ready to have another! So we started to give things a go. I am over half way into my maternity leave but an internal vacancy has come up, I have applied and have been given the date for an interview! Is it possible to have both a baby and a new job? Am I being selfish? What if when I start the new job (if I get it)I'm already pregnant!? My mind is all over the place 😭 any comments welcome

Do it ! No male would ever think twice about going for a new job or promotion so not should you. What's the worst that could happen ? You never go back to the job ? That's life. People leave jobs for so many reasons and just be selfish and think about you

Go for the promotion and the baby! I tried hard and got promoted to a senior position and then announced my pregnancy soon after 14 weeks which coincided with me showing and my promotion taking effect.

It was fine. No-one would bat an eyelid if we were men and it is perfectly possible to be a committed employee and pregnant/a good mother. You shouldn’t have to pass up on either opportunity.

Do you know what, thank you baby1baby2 + meshy23 you've made me feel so much better. As women we're made to make babies, and you're right if it was men no one would bat an eyelid! On the upside I got the job!!!! But the baby front a bfn so we will keep trying :) thank you for you're kind words :)
