The amount of things I have to get done today is making me want to cry.

Had a hard week with starting back at college as an adult student on an access course and trying to manage keeping our home clean & in order. I'm diagnosed with depression & ocd so that's extra helpful.

Today's list:
Get out of bed (hasn't happened yet)
Eat something & take meds
Brush teeth (sounds ridiculous but it's hard to do when you're in a depressive state)
Put wash on
Hoover
Clean surfaces & kitchen
Put laundry away
Shower
Muster up some energy to study and go out tonight with my partner.
Oh and go food shopping.

I just want to crawl into a hole and die right now.

The unsympathetic posters don't understand how mental health works, they need to do some research.

Please ignore them and focus on all the positivity and encouragement. You've got this. 👍🏾

user764329056 · 13/09/2019 15:19

I hear you OP, my to do list today feels like Mount Everest, have achieved the brushing of teeth so far and put some washing on, the other tasks are more onerous and I am procrastinating xx

marblesgoing · 13/09/2019 15:33

Bollox to the unsympathetic posters and the ones with no compassion.

Even if you don't understand mental health you could be compassionate to another human being that's posted for support on a forum Hmm

Op well done for getting as far as you have today 😁

Keep going. Once the appea forms done you will feel apt better and a weight off your mind that's it's ready for posting x

Yerbumsootthewindae · 13/09/2019 15:35

Sounds like you're in a tough situation, but you're doing well, keep going! 💪

Dowser · 13/09/2019 15:42

Now that you’re up and motoring
Your pip appeal is the most important thing
20 mins bite sized chunks
That’s your money lifeline andit comes before food shopping and night out

PlinkPlink · 13/09/2019 15:46

That's brilliant!! Well done OP!

I suffered with it from 18 til 28 years old so I totally get where you are.

Don’t forget the first thing to tick off on a todo list is writing the list, that way you know you have already started and keep going 😊 always put the most urgent things first.

ThatCurlyGirl · 13/09/2019 15:58

Sorry for the posts that will just make you feel even more shit. Cold and totally unhelpful.

If you broke your leg people wouldn't tell you to just get over it go for a run. I am physically disabled following a pretty catastrophic car crash but I still understand how your mental health is making you feel.

There's absolutely no need for horrible and negative messages, please don't take them to heart Thanks

littlemeitslyn · 13/09/2019 16:01

@marblesgoing Thank you! I'm halfway through the appeal form and it's emotionally exhausting! They're basically calling me a liar saying I have no problems 😫 (despite the tonnes of medical evidence sent in!)

TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt · 13/09/2019 16:05

Ignore 57Lady and the like. They're looking for a reaction and are incapable of understanding the complexity of living with a mental health condition

You've done great today. I hope you can see that.

threeamclub · 13/09/2019 16:06

@SilverySurfer & @57lady I really hope one of your friends or family members don't choose to come to you in a time of need with regards to mental health as you could be very dangerous to them and push them over the edge!

People are allowed to struggle and some do more than others, physical disabilities are no worse than mental health disabilities. If you're struggling, you're struggling. You don't compare people to others!

@TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt Thank you, there have been some lovely posters on here, including you and I'm so grateful. I don't think I would have gotten out of bed today if I hadn't made this post and received such amazing support and ideas. Thanks

@ThatCurlyGirl I'm so sorry to hear about your car crash, that must affect you mentally sometimes too as well as physically I can imagine!

Sending hugsThanks

Id also like to remind those who are brain-cell deficient that this is the Chat topic and not AIBU. So, off you fuck with your embarrassing try-hard comments.

threeamclub · 13/09/2019 16:11

@Dowser You're totally right, I've been putting it off for a month now as I've been so anxious over it, the whole PIP ordeal with having it stopped and having to do mandatory reconsiderations etc has been so draining and I've gotten so much more ill because of it.

OP posts:
wildthingsinthenight · 13/09/2019 16:11

You've done loads OP! Awesome! Star

threeamclub · 13/09/2019 16:12

@TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt Christ can you imagine if I'd have posted in AIBU? I would have thrown myself into the snake pit! 😂

Thank you, I'm glad the majority of posters have had a good head on their shoulders!

Haven't showered yet but teeth are brushed so that's a win! Taking a break from the appeal right now as I'm exhausted from it. More coffee needed.

TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt · 13/09/2019 16:16

I'm in a good place at the moment. I've posted on MN (different usernames) at the bleakest of times and only ever received support and advice.

I've never seen the kind of comments your thread has received. Mumsnet champions Mental Health Support. I'm truly appalled by the fact someone has gone out of their way to basically tell you to "pull yourself together"

Nah. Not on

Anyway. I won't be interacting with them and I don't want to detract from your otherwise brilliant achievements today.

Pop your phone away for a bit and crack on with your Pip assessment thingy then reward yourself with an hour of funny YouTube clips or whatever floats your boat Flowers

MrsMozartMkII · 13/09/2019 16:18

You're doing grand lass. Be pleased with yourself.

threeamclub · 13/09/2019 16:26

@TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt @MrsMozartMkII thank you guysThanks

Off to finish the appeal!
