You can take paracetamol and ibuprofen at the same time but you should make sure you only take the recommended dose of each. You shouldn't have more than 4 doses of paracetamol and 3 doses of ibuprofen in a 24 hour period.

Stressedout10 · 12/09/2019 22:39

Yes paracetamol can be taken with ibuprofen OR aspirin.
Never take aspirin and ibuprofen together

Fuma · 12/09/2019 22:41

You absolutely can.

worriedaboutmygirl · 12/09/2019 22:49

Why not ibuprofen and aspirin together? (Wondering what I may have done to myself)

secretnurse · 12/09/2019 23:26

Both carry a small risk of gastric bleeding, don't take both but if you already have, unless in large amounts, don't worry unless you have upper abdominal pain or bloody/coffee ground vomit. If you do, go to A&E!

The NHS says you can take paracetamol and ibuprofen together, but says it's better to take ibuprofen with food.

You can also alternate them up to the maximum daily for each, e.g. ibuprofen at 8 a.m., paracetamol at 10 a.m., ibuprofen at 12 noon, and so on. So getting some pain relief every two hours, which helped me get through the pain of shingles.
