Central London casual but nice lunch with a dog

No the date is not with a dog, but I need to take my dog along with me to lunch to meet a friend.
I don't want a pub, but somewhere unpretentious but not grotty which is (smallish) dog friendly. I know loads of places which aren't central....but none that are.
Anyone got any suggestions?

The cafe at Somerset House has tables outside

On the south bank the national theatre has tables outside and you can get food from 'the kitchen'

St Martin in the fields have a lovely outdoor garden with tables

If raining then Yo Sushi upstairs at Waterloo has outside tables (but still covered) There's other restaurants with tables 'outside' but I don't know if they're doggo friendly

Sketch (although that's not exactly unpretentious), Maggie Jones and 40 Dean Street allow dogs inside. J Sheekey and Gaucho Grill allow them on the terrace I think. Or there is the dog cafe in Westbourne Grove. Any of the park cafes...

St Christopher’s Place off Oxford Street has lots of restaurants with outside seating. You could phone ahead to check if any of them allow dogs.

Thanks, I guess 'nice' wasn't the right description, I would ideally like a smallish independent with cheapish but interesting food, any nationality.

We went here the other month (visiting london, we don’t live there)

They had an outside bit which from memory was undercover but I’m sure there was a dog in there when we went.

Lush pancakes!

Difficult to find cheap small independents in central London suitable for dogs. Maybe in the Borough Market area? Or Shoreditch area?

Drake and Morgan www.drakeandmorgan.co.uk/the-moniker/whats_on/dogs-of-drake-morgan/

Smith and Whistle www.smithandwhistle.com It’s not casual though!

Shake Shack www.shakeshack.com/food-and-drink/ Scroll down on this page and it tells you what they do for dogs. Might not be what you’re after - it’s burgers and hotdogs

fortydeanstreet.com/. Italian in central London.

Selfridges allow dogs in, not sure about in the restaurants? As long as you can carry the dog anyway.

swissmilk · 12/09/2019 17:45

I know it's a difficult request raisin, that's why I'm asking Grin, especially for central London proper. Not keen on Selfridges etc, my dog is small-medium size and I do go into places like John Lewis on Oxford street, but she's not a 'handbag' dog.

Pancake place is a possibility thanks Raymond could pop to the White Cube afterwards which is always great.

It's the wrong side of London for my friend though, and I don't want to make her travel all the way across town.

Caffe Tropeo in Russell Square. Outside seating, and sensible prices

Livingthedream12345 · 12/09/2019 18:10

The maritime museum in Greenwich had outside space with dogs there last time I went.
