Depends on what you already pay for. Mine had a paper round and a sweet shop job at that age. Do you expect household tasks in exchange for money?
We didn’t give pocket money as such but paid for transport, clothes, entertainment, etc in accordance with what we felt was reasonable.
We had the “ all my friends get fifty pounds a week “ pocket money line but soon learnt it was easier to just give what we thought was reasonable for that particular week.

My youngest is 15. She gets £20 per month from me, and £10 per month from her dad. She earns about £50 per month from a pot-washing job, which she spends on whatever. I buy all her necessities (clothes, underwear, toiletries etc). If she wants to 'upgrade' (e.g. from Primark bras to Victoria's Secret), she has to pay the difference from her allowance/earnings. Some of her friends have a ridiculous amount of money given to them by their parents. Even if I had that money going spare, I wouldn't be just handing it over to my DC...

My DM made me make a huge spreadsheet with everything I spent money on and went through it with me. She thought if things I’d forgotten. From that an allowance was set and I learned to budget. If you can afford to do that then I would. I will be doing so when DC are older.

I went to school on Saturdays so could only get work in the summer (whichvwas expected!) and lots of options that were available in the 90s aren’t now (I haven’t seen delivered newspapers round here at all...for a decade or so).
