Anyone in bognor Regis with a ventolin inhaler to spare?

I know it’s a slim chance but my daughter (19) went to Bognor Regis yesterday and is staying till Thursday. She left her inhaler behind when she flew from Ireland and was quite wheezy today. I’ve left a message for our doctor and I’m hoping he can fax a prescription over.

In the meantime, as the title says “ Anyone in bognor Regis with a ventolin inhaler to spare?“ or know of any chemist that will sell her one over the counter?

Thanks for any help.

You can get them over the counter from a pharmacist but have to pay?

Can't remember how much it costs but it wasn't silly money.

Provided she has proof of being on Ventolin, she should be able to get an emergency supply from a pharmacy- or go to a walk in centre. CAn you Whatsapp a repeat request slip over to her as proof? We are still in the EU so a script should be OK but I am not entirely sure about a faxed script these days .

Or try a walk in centre

MrsMaiselsMuff · 09/09/2019 18:37

Ventolin is a prescription only medicine. At one point Asda Pharmacy were selling them, they do the prescribing bit in the background.

If your daughter calls 111 they can arrange for her to see someone and/ or get a prescription.

I’ve found other clinics as well

Lloyd’s pharmacy or Sainsbury’s might be a better option

You can buy a private prescription from a few pharmacists for a ventolin (all?)

If she calls 111 they can arrange a telephone call with a doctor who can send a digital prescription to a nearby pharmacy.

DeathMetalMum · 09/09/2019 19:07

Most pharmacists will give an emergency supply of ventolin. I'd get her to try a few local pharmacies, and explain her situation.

Bognor memorial hospital has a walk in centre. The hospital is tiny, no A &E etc but good for things like.

savingshoes · 09/09/2019 19:29

She needs to get her wheeze under control before traveling around Bognor to find an inhaler.
I would suggest she goes to A&E when she gets off the plane. They might put her on o2 for a bit or something else.
Once it's under control she can talk to them about collecting another pump from the pharmacy (which is going to be in the same building).

Thank you all for replying. She is heading over to the hospital now.

Hope she gets sorted OP, feeling wheezy and without an inhaler is miserable

ShirleyPhallus · 09/09/2019 20:53

And just to say - make sure you’re calming her down, it’s very easy to get stressed and more breathless if you worry about having an inhaler
