What to do when recovering from surgery? Positive self improvement!

I've just had a quite traumatic operation and have been signed off for a month. I am starting to feel better physically and want to use the time to better myself ( and do some things I never get time to do)

Any ideas?

It depends on what you feel you normally don't have time for.

How well you are and what interests you.

I don't normally have time for anything. I am going to be stuck indoors for at least two weeks

I'm not sure what interests me I feel I've lost my way and just concentrated on work and routine and my dc

Looking for inspiration!

Hopeful bump even if it's not self improvement but Netflix recommendations!

I watched the whole of modern family!

Ummmm, all my good intentions flew out of the window and I spend my time between physio exercises and recuperating. Take it easy and let your body recover.

Try some mindfulness books.

StarWanderer · 10/09/2019 22:02

I'm off work for 3 months due to illness and have written a list of things to try, to sort of find myself a bit-
OU online courses
Pinterest boards of craft/cooking ideas
Colouring/drawing/sewing
Repairs (minor!) around house
Daily walk (even if around the garden/block)
YouTube vids/ted talks/podcasts
Reading
Listening to new radio stations
Box sets/films
Hope you're better soon.

Colouring in books.

Learn crochet through youboobtube. (Make little things to give to hospitalised children, or comfort blankets for the elderly in care, strings of snowflakes gir Christmas - anything that appeals).

Make photo books - printed photos or Hoffman albums. Takes a long time, but lovely finished products. I often pull an album out to flick through while i have a cup of tea, better than surfing on my phone.

Things I have recently binge-watched, also through recuperation:
The Good Wife
The Good Fight
Friends - the whole stupid thing, was fun!
Big Bang Theory - has aged surprisingly badly.
Community
Parks and Recreation
All on Amazon Prime.

Here's to a speedy and fun-filled recuperation WineBrewFlowers
