Which tradesperson can fix sealant round a shower screen please?

I had a shower last night and afterwards found water dripping through the kitchen ceiling downstairs. I immediately checked the boiler but found no sign of a leak. I then noticed there was water on the floor on the outside of the bath - it had leaked under the hinge on the shower screen and flooded the floor without me noticing.

It's not something I can do myself - I'm shit with sealant/DIY in general but I think the shower screen might need taking off the hinges, I don't know. Which tradesperson can fix this please?

A decorator or a plumber, but usually a decorator.

Thanks @BeepBeeeep. Do you think a handyman/woman might be able to do it?

It is fairly easy to do , it may be worth you asking a friend , family, neighbour to do it in return for a case of beer / cooked meal

Some handypeople might be able to do it, it depends how confident they are with sealant - it's one of those jobs that's a bit tricky to do neatly.

Yes, a handyman / woman may be able to OP. You would be better ringing a couple and asking.

Unless you had a torrent of water coming out, it wouldn't be enough to drip through the ceiling.

You probabky have a leak (on-going for some time) around the edge of the bath itself.

Handyman would do it

Have you used Task Rabbit? It’s wxcellent and you can basically input your job, choose the length of time you think you need and it will give you all the people available

think I can give you a referral code for a tenner off if of interest once you have a look at it

Plumber did ours. If you do it yourself remember don't lick your finger to smooth it otherwise it goes mouldy.

Squiff70 · 09/09/2019 17:51

Thanks everyone, I'll look into it this evening!
