Ideas for how to gift a concert ticket for DD.

DD2 loves Lana Del Rey with an unearthly passion. So we've got tickets for her concert in February in Manchester.

Her birthday is in a few weeks time, and obviously the tickets won't have arrived by then, so I'm wondering how best to present the gift to her.

So far, I have looked at making either a pic of Lana with a message re You're going to the concert or making a fake concert ticket to put in her birthday card.

One of those balloons the receiver pops and you have a message printed inside?

I used a lightbox to surprise dds with Disneyland last Christmas.

When I had tickets for something that included a break away for my mum I made a Moonpig card with pictures of all the things we were doing including the show.

There are websites where you can mock up some concert tickets and print them off. That's what I usually do.

I made Dd small cards (about credit card sized) and put them all on a key ring.
One had a picture of the artist, another was a verse of lyrics that we always belted out at the tip of our voices when it came on the radio, the name of the tour, another pic of artist and then the last one had the details of the concert I had booked.

Her face as she turned the cards and it dawned on her was amazing...she cried, I cried, I think the dog even cried! Lol.
We went to the concert together and had a great night, aw happy days.

I got dd tickets to little mix last year, I gave them to her for Christmas. I bought a calendar and filled in the date of the concert.

UrsulaPandress · 08/09/2019 23:49

I print off the receipt and put it in a card.

Etsy has personalised scratch cards that reveal concert tickets underneath

I have tickets to that concert too! When I have given concert tickets before I have done:
-card with scratchcard heart (from Etsy)
-printed off a concert ticket and put in the card (also Etsy)

  • bought a copy of the bands/singers album (lana’s New album was released last week) then printed a little speech bubble that said ‘see you in Manchester on 26th of Feb 2020’(or whatever the date was) and stuck it on the front

I preferred the final one as we could then listen to the album in the car before the concert. Either way you choose she’ll be over the moon!

I've just bought ds Elton John tickets for next year, I'm going to make up a hamper with elton CDs, books, calender etc and fill in the date on the calender and wait for him to see it.

Last year he got tickets to see kiss and I bought a kiss t shirt and made up a fake ticket and hid it inside.

UsernameTaken76 · 09/09/2019 07:37

My DM did this for me once. She mocked up the tickets and hid them using the box inside a box trick. I always remember the excitement of getting to the bottom as well as finding the tickets.

I do love the PP idea of the cards though as also builds the excitement

Print off the booking confirmation email and put it in a jazzy envelope?

AngelsWithSilverWings · 09/09/2019 07:48

I did this for DD with an Ariana Grande ticket. I bought her an Ariana t shirt and printed a note to go with it with that had the date of the concert on it.

The scratch card suggestion sounds good - wish I'd dine that!

I did like the idea of the scratch card which I had also found online. But it's a fiver so didn't just get it without wondering if theres a better idea first.
