Ikea beds and when did your Dc stop visiting you?

DH and I have single beds (he has weird sleep issues and this way he can't blame me for him waking when I move the duvet or get up for the DC) but mine is falling apart. We have beds from ikea and would likely get from there again. Mine is over 5 years old now, is this a normal lifetime for a bed?

Can anyone recommend a good Ikea bed? I'm tempted to get the same again because it fits with the built in furniture but maybe I should get something different. But the. It won't match DH's either.

Secondly, what sort of age did your Dc stop coming to your bed in the mornings? DD pretty much always comes straight to me when she wakes, then DS gets jealous and wants to come too, but there's limited breathing space with me, a 9 and a 7 year old! It's also a bit risky when DD's had a nightmare and wants to stay part of the night... I currently have a standard single (90x200) and am debating replacing it with a small double (140x200) so there's space in the mornings. It would make it more expensive as I'd need a new mattress so is it worth it?
