5/6 hours in Ealing area this weekend - things to do with a 7yr old

DS1 is attending an event in Ealing this weekend between 10 - 4. Due to the time it would take to drive back and forth from home, I’m thinking that it is best to stay in the area with DS2 (7) and find something to do. It is not an area of London I know at all, so what do you recommend?

Take the 65 bus to kew gardens and wander round
Try and book the new playground

Or playgrounds in ealing parks

How about Syon park and the jungle gym/snakes and ladders in Brentford? It's for kids under 12 years of age I think. There's plenty of parking, cafe etc.

Are you driving?
Bring his bike and go for a cycle in Gunnersbury park. There are 2 playgrounds and a pedalos in the pond and a nice cafe and the main house to visit.

Alternatively Horsenden Hill near Perivale Station has a Gruffalo trail and a lovely playground by the canal.

There are lots of parks and playgrounds in the area.
Kew is not far and the new playground is brilliant. It can be soo busy and hard to park there though.

There’s a Tramline Park (Oxygen) and Vue Cinema and Nando’s all close together by Park Royal Tube.

Waterman’s Arts Center in Brentford does a kids film on at the weekends and there’s a McDonalds across the road.

Where in Ealing? Ealing Broadway/common or South Ealing/Northfields you could get the tube to south ken and do Nat hist/science museums/v&a etc.

There’s syon and Osterley houses. Kew garden and Chiswick house isn’t far. Richmond. Depends what you are into.

Get the tube and go to the Natural History Museum.

Don't go to Gunnersbury park this weekend there is a big festival on!
How about taking the 65 bus from Ealing Broadway to Kew Steam Museum or visit Hanwell Zoo for a couple of hours (there's a small car park)

Also Walpole park playground in Ealing Broadway is really nice

Thanks for the great ideas. I will have the car and am happy to drive somewhere. Location wise we will be dropping DS1 not far from Ealing Broadway.
