He’s managed to have 2 (that I know of) very long term relationships (and has maintained a very good relationship with his step daughter, despite not being with her mum anymore) so he must be doing something right.

I know you say you have Aspergers and maybe that accounts for the tone of your posts, but it was a really unpleasant thing to say. Chris Packham has made a documentary about autism, maybe watch it? There are many parents of children with ASD on MN, must have been heartbreaking to realise that they're DC are not to be considered attractive because of it.
