Go, go, go!!!!

Have you been before? Are you interested in doing touristy things or are do you want to go shopping and eat amazing food?

I have been before and done a few touristy things. So more the latter

Book yourself lunch at castle terrace or the Kitchin. It’s GREAT value for lunch (crazy expensive for dinner).
Castle Terrace is more central.
Shopping in Edinburgh isn’t my favourite but Multrees Walk is lovely, George Street is ok, got most big names.
The Dome is lovely for cocktails.

Wings! Just off Royal Mile. If you like meals that are exclusively chicken wings and cheese, that is...

I thought the Royal Yacht Brittania was brilliant - much better than I expected.

There is a Grayson Perry exhibit at the Dovecote gallery and Bridget Reilly at the National Gallery if you want to potter round something cultural. I'd recommend taking a walk up Calton Hill (5 mins walk from Waverley place) to see the views of the city - there's a fabulous restaurant at the top but it may be fully booked (the Lookout) - if so there are lots of lovely places to eat depending on what you're after.

If the weather is nice, I’d go wander round the Botanics and then walk back to town via Stockbridge.
