I have a very energetic 14 month old, we get 2 days during the week together and I want to make the most of them.

We do one baby group (the only local one really) which is great but when we’re at home I just need some ideas to keep her busy!

Any baby/toddler survival suggestions welcome!

Washing dishes. Kept mine busy for hours, do in the garden if possible.

Make a sensory board thing - open up a big box/get a big piece of card from somewhere. Make a ball run from loo roll tubes, and put a cardboard coffee cup underneath to catch the balls. Pom Poms or ping pong balls etc. Stick on different textures - bubble wrap, glittery card, corrugated card etc. Make a guitar type twangy thing using lolly stick and elastic bands and stick that on. Stuff like that!

Also you could make a ribbon pull - shoebox with holes in, thread in various ribbons/strings, knot in each end so they don’t pull off.

Puzzles, washing up, colouring, painting, finding bugs in the garden. Tv!
