Will this damage my swimming costume?

If I leave it 24+ hrs between swimming and then washing it, I'll obviously take it out of bag and air it in the meantime. Someone told me I should wash it immediately as the chlorine damages the costume - it's just a normal bog standard M&S one rather than a sports one.

Just for context, DD starts school next week, I'm going to swim weekly on a Friday morning and then DD will have her weekly swimming lesson on Saturday morning, then I'll wash both our swimming gear on the Saturday afternoon.

Im sure it will be fine, rinse with warm water and ring it out at the pool. Wash them both after your daughters lesson.

If you rinse the chlorine out it'll keep it looking better for longer. Just rinse it when you have a shower when you get out of the pool?

Rinse, air and wash later it is then.
Thank you people!
