Realised this Summer we really need new cases.
They need to be wheeled. Any recommendations?

Tripp. We've got full sized and hand luggage ones. They're light, well made and have a 5 year guarantee.

Big hold bags or cabin bags?

If the former, find the most garish design you can. Don't rely on tying a little ribbon to the handle of black ones, as you'll just be like every other bugger at the carousel.

My case has done probably hundreds of thousands of miles now and I have never seen any other case in the same design.

If the latter, do you want drag along wheels or the ones you can push ahead of you?

Visit TK Maxx as they have loads of various sizes, colours, weights, models, design.

Big hold bags, but wouldn't mind a new small one for the cabin too.

Go to TK Maxx and try wheeling them around. Some have dodgy wheels. I like the 360 degree 4 wheelers best.

I really like these, I think designed by airline crew.

Samsonite.

We bought Tripp ones 5 years ago, they are a teal colour and we each have a bright luggage strap with a matching colour initial luggage label.

4 wheeled, sturdy, strong, easy to spot.

We have a case each. The mediums fit inside the large ones. Convenient to store.

Yotam · 04/09/2019 14:00

Away cases are great. Light, four wheels. Do a range of accessories and colours.

Our Tripp ones are great.

QueSera · 04/09/2019 14:03

We bought Antler ones, one of our best purchases ever.

ZenNudist · 04/09/2019 18:18

Delsey. Google for lightest sturdier cases.

BonnesVacances · 04/09/2019 18:25

Another recommendation for Tripp ones. Ours have lasted ages.

beatriceprior · 04/09/2019 18:39

I've just bought IT cases. They are the hard shell ones. They come in all different colours and I'm really impressed with them.

They are soooo light do you can pack more stuff!

They are currently in Primark for £40.

We had turquoise softsided nylon Tripp cases for donkey's years, they were fantastic until we picked them up at LHR after a flight with Thai Airways. They were well and truly ruined beyond repair. Both were cover

nononever · 04/09/2019 18:50

Oops...

Both were covered in a thick black greasy substance interspersed with rust, like they had been caught in the conveyor system or the like. Thankfully the contents were fine. Straight in the bin when we got home.

We've got Eastpak luggage now and like it.

KenAdams · 04/09/2019 19:02

Antler Aire

youngestisapsycho · 04/09/2019 19:06

I need some big cases on wheels. We are going long haul and have 30kg allowance and are taking extra stuff and gifts.. But then I’m thinking normal European holidays we wouldn’t need them so big... I’m torn which to buy? Also, soft or hard cases?

youngestisapsycho · 04/09/2019 19:07

Blimey! And something under £100!

LemonAddict · 04/09/2019 19:09

Antler - 10 year guarantee.

haggisaggis · 04/09/2019 19:09

We have used Eastpak wheeled hold-all type for about 14 years now. Very happy with them. Still look good.

HeronLanyon · 04/09/2019 19:13

My list always includes -
Quiet wheels.
4 wheels not 2.
Double retractable handle so you can slip a bag over it easily (single ones - bags just slip around).
handle on the long side. A surprising number don’t have this and it makes it difficult.
If the inside has one zipped and one elastic strapped side I need to have the zipped part in the top as you would have it opening - the other way around means things fall out or you need packing cubes and it’s still messy opening up.
A zipped central slim pocket is invaluable for paperwork.
Tsa locks.
I’ve become quite particular having bought ‘annoying’ cases over the years.
