So you can't use a Boots gift card on their online store?

Got some gift cards for Boots I got as a present to use up. Went to pay online to discover you can't pay with a Boots gift card online at Boots! This has never been the case with any of other store I have had gift cards for. Bit annoying really.

It was exactly the same in the shop i worked in but if the customer rang head office they would transfer it to an online code

I noticed this when someone got me a boots gift card for a very generous amount for Christmas and I had to leave my house and speak to humans in order to spend it. It was awful didn't know the thing about ringing head office but honestly what a faff, I don't know of any other retailer who does that. Surely better for business to let people spend gift cards online with minimal bother!? But what do I know

I tried calling to get my gift card transferred to an online code, they said I would need to do an in-store order and then I can pay using my gift card, as they didn't have the items I wanted in store. Absolute Faf

Honestly, for such a well known company, their systems are crap! The website is an absolute disaster with a dismal search function, keeps emptying the basket, you have to login multiple times and re-do the shopping. And the voucher/ point system is absolutely ridiculous. It won’t let you top up a purchase on points with cash, you have to spend exactly how much you have in points.
