I think it’s time to get the hot water bottle out.

Just jumped in to bed (best time of day) and my feet are a bit cold.
I suspect it’s time to get the hot water bottle out....
Also had to pull the blinds this evening as was dark and gloomy.
We are in NI, so realise not every where is nippy, but summer definitely feels over here already.

I felt the same way today... Bizarre because I was in an outdoor pool in Scotland the other day with the sun beating down on me, and now I'm having a hot chocolate with cinnamon.

And DS has just out the duvet back in his bed after having a fan on every night as he was so hot!

Still very warm here, (SE England) I've woken up too hot the last couple of nights. Getting dark early now though.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 02/09/2019 22:24

My Hot Water Bottle only goes away may-august and even then I dig it out if it's a tad chilly.

We've lit the log burner the last two nights.

StillMedusa · 02/09/2019 22:27

Mine hasn't gone away all year..not even when it was 34 degrees Grin
I just can't sleep without it!

SgtFredColon · 02/09/2019 22:28

I’m in NI too and had to put the heating on today!

Frangipane · 02/09/2019 22:31

Southern England here and I have just gone to bed with my first hottie for several months. Dh thinks I am mad though.

HelloCheeky · 02/09/2019 22:38

I'm in bed with a hottie too!

ExpletiveDelighted · 02/09/2019 22:39

I never use a hottie, even in the depths of winter, some years we don't even bother with the winter duvet, neither of us feels the cold much.

Titsywoo · 02/09/2019 22:40

Still warm here in the south east but am getting all the winter coats dry cleaned tomorrow in anticipation of the cooler weather.

Justmuddlingalong · 02/09/2019 22:42

Our hot water bottles are back earning their keep here. Boiler service booked for this week. Winter quilt looked out and will be washed on the next decent drying day. It was really cold and windy today and it was dark just after 8 tonight. I know we'll have more sunny and warm days before the end of the year, but today made me want to start preparing for the cold.

OrangeJustice · 02/09/2019 22:48

Yanbu I’m in bed with mine for the first time in ages. So comforting.

PotterHead1985 · 02/09/2019 22:58

blonderunner · 02/09/2019 23:16

I'm in NI too and lying in bed with my hot water bottle! So cold today and wanted to put the heat on but thought it was too early. Glad to hear others have it on so I'll not feel bad tomorrow Smile

cookiemonster5 · 02/09/2019 23:18

It was 2 degrees in my corner if Scotland this morning so I stuck the heating on. Realised it wasn't working and rang the housing association to get it fixed.

Next Tuesday they tried to tell me I had to wait to get it looked at. When I queried why so long she said "it's not heating season so it's not and emergency".

Erm I live in Scotland. We get 3 non-heating days a year and those occurred in April.

Argued with her and reminded her that I have 3 kids, 1 aged 2 and 2 with medical problems and voila, Engineer here in 3 hours. Heatings still not fixed property but useable till they can come back and sort out what the last guy fucked up by installing it BACKWARDS!!!

I got up and out socks on in bed last night. I detest socks on bed too.

CakeNinja · 02/09/2019 23:26

Whaaaatt?! This is madness Grin
Although seeing you’re in NI, I’ll let you off. SE here and got windows open in most rooms still, no heating or fires yet.

EleanorLavish · 03/09/2019 23:02

Tsk.
I forgot to look for my bottle today and now I’m back in bed with cold toes again.
Must do it tomorrow.
I was in a London myself recently sweltering g away at night, distant memory....
