On my own for the first time all summer

School is back next week. I have had assorted children and occasional adults to look after all summer. Not one day by myself. A few snatched hours on holiday when DH took the children to a waterpark (in which I only sat and worried because there have been a fair few accidents recently) and a couple of evenings when the children were in bed and DH was working away (I fell asleep in front of the tv).

But right now I am on my own.

And I will be until 5.00pm tomorrow.

That’s 24 hours!!!

DH has taken the kids away for the night as they are going to an event tomorrow.

The bad news? The house is a tip and relatives are coming for a birthday tea tomorrow.

Cake is made, food just needs putting on plates.

But the kitchen floor is awash with icing and the sitting room looks like a jumble sale because I was sorting out back to school stuff.

I should start. If I start now I might be finished in the early hours.

Or I could have wine.

Hmmmm... 🤔

Enjoy the peace! Even if you've got lots to do at least you can do it without constant interruptions. I'm kind of alone. Dh and ds2 are food shopping, ds1 is at a friend's and dd is upstairs.

Have the wine first. I would.

Went to the fridge and grabbed... a coke. Did look at the wine lol!

Enjoying the peace thank you. although they’ve rung already to say they forgot something 🙄. Why do I need to know that?!
