Painful sex - 10mths post partum. Help?!

I had a straightforward vaginal birth with my DS, no instruments needed. I did have quite a few stitches, second tears I think. Not my perineum but around my labia and urethra. My DS popped out the top.

Anyway my DP and I have only had sex twice since and it really hurts. Sad I really want our sex life back. We have tried lube and different positions. It feels like it's a bit bruised?!

Where do I go for help? My GP? A physio? I just don't know where to start and I'm pretty embarrassed which I know is silly. I didn't have anyone check my stitches or anything at my 6 week check. My DS had literally just been diagnosed with CMPA and was really ill. I was completely focused on him.

Definitely go to see your GP.
I'm 15 weeks PP and it feels different but not painful.
Thanks

BumbleNova · 31/08/2019 15:40

@kellyw1989 scarring from where the stitches have healed? Are things better for you now?

@AmIThough - thank you. I'm just a bit nervous about being fobbed off.

Even though the stitches have healed I was told there can still me minor scaring which makes your sensation change

@BumbleNova don't worry about being fobbed off. You won't be the first person with the issue and they're generally very good about these things.

I had similar 40+ years ago. Went to gp. It was my muscles still in spasm. Got tablets to relax them. All fixed very quickly and easily.
