How to acknowledge a new man friends birthday?

Okay so I’ve been dating a guy for a few weeks, had 2-3 dates a week and lots of fun so far. We’re both cautious of it moving too fast after being burned by previous relationships but I’m very quietly hopeful about this one.
My dilemma is it’s his birthday this week and rather a big one. I’ve arranged to take him for dinner next weekend to celebrate once the celebrations with his friends and family have died down but do I also get him a card/present? A present feels weird so I was thinking a card but what to write inside? I’m utterly hopeless with these things and usually write “To Birthday Person, Happy Birthday! Love Turned” but that seems so cold 😂

Any advice would be gratefully received!

I had this, it was awkward!
I went jokey so got him a card, a rosette type birthday boy badge, some sweets I knew he liked and a birthday cupcake with a candle.

Oohhh a badge would be great, he’d hate that Grin what did you write in the card @dancemom

Can't remember exactly but kept it casual, much along the lines of what you posted.

This was date 3 for me and it was on his actual birthday so very awkward 🙈

Oh I remember, I wrote what you had posted but also something like

"Lucky you getting to spend it with me 😝"

Keeping with the casual jokey theme
