A question for anyone with knowledge of physio students/uni physio courses.....

DD is about to do Physio at Uni and we were just discussing clothes to take with her

Do physio students tend to live in sports wear due to the hands-on element of the course? I can't imagine skinny jeans being very practical so wondering if she needs more sportswear

Or do courses tend to be split into practical days/lecture days? (I'm guessing this bit may vary from uni to uni)

Any advice welcome about this or any other element of physio courses! Thanks

She can wear whatever she is comfy in. There will possibly be times when studying applied anatomy that she'd need to get down to bra/vest and shorts as this is a practical skill that needs to be learned on real people, but uni will advise in advance about what students need to do/wear if necessary.
The most practical elements will be in the form of placements and uniform is generally required for this.

Thank you tatyr.

I remember at one of the open days a lecturer saying that it's not a course for anyone who is uncomfortable about being touched or spending time in front of peers half-dressed!

I guess she'll take the gym clothes she's got then and then can always buy more if she finds herself there's lots of practical sessions or is just more comfortable in it

From what I remember they have polo shirts for placements so that's not an issue.

When I studied physio at uni I would dress according to my timetable that day. So if I knew I had a lot of prac then sports gear if leactures and seminars then usual jeans etc. I would strongly recommend a pair of short tight gym shorts and a selection of sleeveless sports vest including sports bras as you spend a lot of time trying to expose various body parts!

SHould have said we had changing rooms and lockers so could change prior to prac work.

Thank you AtleastitsnotMonday, we'll make sure she has tight gym shorts and sports bras.

Did you qualify recently?
