If you was turning 40th, how would you like someone to surprise you?

My DH turns 40 next may and I know I want to do something really nice and really big for him but I don’t know what. My one idea was a safari as I know he wants to do that but we have a toddler so not really practical. We are ok for money but not safari lodge with a dedicated room for your nanny ok. We don’t have a nanny!

You don’t know my DH so rather than asking for ideas for him, I thought I’d ask what would you really like that I can maybe use for inspiration. Think big please!

A nice gift that he knows I would like. I would hate a surprise party/trip etc.

We are ok for money

Does that mean he would be paying for his own surprise? If so, he may want a say in it.

What about a cruise where there's a kids club included?

Ask him what he wants, then organise it. DH and I both did that. It takes the risk out of an expensive present.
I had a long weekend in Rome and a Welsh blanket. DH had a weekend in Norfolk with family, lunch at Morston Hall and a new bike (when he gets round to buying it).

I’ve tried asking him but he doesn’t know.

Nope, he wouldn’t be paying for it. I’ve been saving from my fun money and have about £1,800 saved already specifically for this.

Do you have to bring DC with you if you go away for even one night?
