I KNOW this was just a dream, but...

It has really freaked me out. I dreamt that I was lying in my bed asleep & that my alarm went off. But instead of the normal beep beep beep, I heard a really creepy, child like voice screaming "Ha ha ha!" and it felt like I was being dragged across the bed. I then had a really odd sensation of a bucket ice water being chucked over and what felt someone was flicking me all over my face, neck & body(I know, I know how weird it sounds!) My arms and legs were flailing everywhere and I woke up drenched in sweat and everything aches, like I've been running marathons in my sleep. I feel really uneasy and the whole thing felt really creepy.
Please tell me about any silly dreams you had last night to take my mind off of it!

I dreamt I was dead but was totally fine with it! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Herocomplex · 30/08/2019 06:16

That’s horrible and very disturbing, dreams can feel so real. Maybe you’re coming down with something?

Herocomplex · 30/08/2019 06:17

Dreaming about dying is usually about something ending for you, in this case you’re ok with whatever it is.

Kalim8 · 30/08/2019 06:22

Sounds like it could have been sleep paralysis.
I've heard that sleeping on your side can lessen the chance of experiencing it.

Lostpuzzlepiece · 30/08/2019 07:57

Yes I'm thinking it was a form of sleep paralysis too. I may be coming down with something - feel absolutely dreadful.

God I had weird dreams last night . I dreamt a rat died then came back to life and bit me . Then I dreamt I was on love island ( I'm in my 40's ) . Very odd not as odd as your dream op, they would freak me out .
I once dreamt that someone was sat on my bed looking at me but I couldn't move or say anything. I told my dd the next day and she said that was sleep paralysis .

Dreams are strange things eh!
I suffer from mycolonic jerks when I'm stressed & have been getting them every few minutes since I woke up. I'm bloody exhausted. Gonna be a long day today...

I dreamt I was shot in the head once. Can't remember the rest of the dream, but do remember a man pointing a gun at me. I heard it bang, felt it hit my head.
Then I had a splitting headache and woke up.
I suspect I started getting a migraine while I was asleep and my brain introduced the shooter as part of the dream to make sense of it.
Was weird though.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 30/08/2019 08:59

It does sound like sleep paralysis, hope you shake of the feeling soon, it can be quite disturbing.

sprite25 · 30/08/2019 09:45

I've had many dreams about being stabbed, it's never happened in real life so of course I don't know what it actually feels like but in the dream I can feel the cold metal going in my skin then the searing white hot pain of it going into my flesh. It always leaves me with palpatations when I wake up

userabcname · 30/08/2019 09:47

Sounds like sleep paralysis. I hear horrible voices and get this weird buzzing sensation in my head that swoops down my body when I have it. I usually get it when transitioning from sleep to awake too! It's horrible.

I had a really fucking horrible dream once, this was about 20 years ago and I still remember it.

I lived in a house with a red door, it was summertime. I was me but not me if that makes sense. The police came to arrest my dad for rape.

It was fucking awful. I can only assume I had watched a crime show or something that mirrored it.

More recently I had a nightmare that stayed with me all day - there was a tornado and I couldn’t hold onto my children. They were all taken by the storm. I woke up sobbing from that one Sad

Eliza
That’s a really interesting dream, especially the me but not me part. If you were to think about the dream and it was ‘you’ do you think you could stop what was happening? Was there some threat to your Dad at the time perhaps, that you were aware of but didn’t know the details? (In your dream it was made it a really terrible thing) The police could be any authority. Did you feel responsible for him in some way? Or worried he might go away, even if he didn’t want to?
The fact that it had such an impact on you might make it worth thinking about again, but from a different point of view.

Had a dream experience very similar to Cigar's where I was shot and felt it but it was mostly in my back. Was strange and a few years ago now but I still remember the whole thing clear as day. I was hiding in a public toilet cubicle and a gunman was stalking the place and found me. I took shots to my back which felt hot and my body was shoved forward with the force and was left in pain. I remember tensing up waiting for the next shot as I knew it'd be painful. Then was shot point blank in the face, which is when I woke up with a very sore, cramped up back in the places I'd been 'shot'. I assume I got a sore back while asleep and it manifested into my dream. Not sure why it had to be so violent though AngryGrin
