What would it be?

Trying to think outside the box this year but struggling for some new ideas!

Please throw some inspiration my way Grin

Within my budget - bottle of his fave malt whisky or a black elder tree for the garden.

Large budget: city break or a power tool he's after!

incontrolofmyownlife · 29/08/2019 11:58

@plantsplantsplants thanks for the ideas - a plant for the garden could be a good idea!

Dream world - Aston Martin (like we could afford to run that - HAH!)

Real world - really nice watch or bottle of malt whisky.

Of course, some of the best gifts you could give him are...free..ahem! Blush

Ninkaninus · 29/08/2019 12:10

This year I’m going to get him a cashmere scarf and a warm hat to replace his very old and battered versions with more luxe ones.

In the past I’ve got him a Lego model of a Sopwith camel, and another time of the Sydney opera house.

If we didn’t already cook a lot together I’d get him a weekly or monthly curry box subscription, perhaps with a weekly beer box as well.

A couple of nights away always goes down well.

@augustagain may I ask what you're suggesting?! ShockGrin

@Ninkaninus a weekly beer box could be a good shout! Thanks Smile

Concert tickets for mine

incontrolofmyownlife · 29/08/2019 16:17

@Raera your post made me think of some tickets for a comedian - DH really likes Romesh Ranganathan and he is touring! But no luck with tickets for our nearest show unfortunately ☹️ was so disappointed! I got my hopes up then.

I bought my DP a voucher for a flight simulator - I can go along and sit in the jump seat Smile

littleredlipstick · 29/08/2019 16:25

I've booked a glamping pod next to a lake for weekend of fishing as he hasn't had much time this year.

neverornow · 29/08/2019 16:37

I did a monthly craft beer subscription- he loved it. They do whiskey versions too.

If he goes to gym or plays sports you could get him some new training gear? That went down well with my DH at Xmas.

Or book a day trip...helicopter ride, theme park, boat trip type thing. Make some memories just the 2 of you?

Frangipane · 29/08/2019 16:42

Best present I most recently bought my dh were tickets to a rugby international. Anything like that?

cranstonmanor · 29/08/2019 16:55

I have a well meaning friend who -when skint- offered herself in lacy lingerie with a really big bow round her neck to her DP. She had forgotten that we would come to visit and hadn't heard her DP open the door. She did look sexy.

Hahaha that made me chuckle.

iklboo · 29/08/2019 17:20

A whisky distillery tour
A bottle of a very good malt whisky
A big Lego set
Monthly whisky subscription

marvellousnightforamooncup · 29/08/2019 18:37

I got mine a Google speaker, against my better judgement. He wanted it, he loves stuff like that, and sound bars and Bluetooth speakers, gadgets galore. I wanted to buy him a carpentry course (hoping for better DIY 😁) but couldn't find one locally.
