Thrush treatment over the counter in Spain

I’m a single parent on holiday in Majorca with my kids. I’ve been on antibiotics and have now developed thrush. I’m bloody miserable and awake feeling awful. Does anyone know if fluconazole (difflucan one) is available over the counter in Spain? I don’t want to drag my kids all the way to the nearest pharmacy if there no point...

Yes I've bought Canesten OTC in Mallorca!

Pharmacy's are like doctors in Mallorca. They will help you.

Thanks both. I have Canestan but it’s not helping. Think I need the tablet but I can’t work out of its available without a prescription. Anyone know?

Yes. The tablet is available without prescription under nearly the same name. Go in and show then a picture of the pill you get in the UK and they can give it to you. Thrush in Spanish is una infección vaginal por hongos.

If one pharmacy won't give it, go to another. Once a pharmacy told me I had to see a doctor, so I went to a different one and they have it to me.

Thanks so much expatinspain. I’ll go straight after I’ve got kids up and sorted their breakfast.

No worries. Hope you get it sorted!

Sorry yes I meant I'd had the Canesten tablet.
