Gussiegrips? I think she's possibly on twitter now...

Not me but I’ve always done them as my mother told me about them when I was a teenager.

Just basic stop and start the flow when urinating.

I’m so glad she told me as I hear horror stories about women leaking when they sneeze/cough/laugh etc and I would dread that happening.

Stopping and starting the flow when urinating can cause UTI's

There is also someone called @pelvicfloorclenchreminder on here.

I stop and start my wee every time and have never had a UTI. Great pelvic floor though even after three children.

@3boysandabump
I’m 53 and have been stop starting since I was 13/14 and have never had a UTI. I’ve had two children and have great bladder control.

Good old Gussiegrips Grin
Stopping the flow of urine focuses on the urethral sphincter. The female pelvic floor is an amazing and complex feat of engineering, and there are so many things you can do to strengthen and tone it which are likely more fun and rewarding than clenching while weeing.
